SOMETIMES WOWING CUSTOMERS IS JUST ABOUT GIVING THEM SOMETHING SMALL AND UNEXPECTED

A wonderful example of this, that your clients will just love and is easy to implement is a 'thought of the day'.

What this involves is creating a thought for the day, printing it out (usually putting several to one page and then cut them up so the thought is just a small note).

Then, when the customer purchases something and you are putting the item into the gift bag, put the 'thought of the day' note into the bag.

The note could be a nice happy thought to make them feel good, it could be something educational or it could be about the community or neighbourhood..

For example, the note could be a nice line from a poem, it could mention an event happening in the area or you could have a note just for any husband that buys something for his wife saying there is a florist around the corner that you noticed was selling a really nice rose bouquet or for female shoppers you may let them know that the shoe shop down the road was having 20% off.

The note could be anything, so long as it is in line with your store's culture and image.

On the back of the note put 'thank you for shopping with xxxxx'.

The idea here is not to sell, it is just to give the client that warm fuzzy feeling.
