Top 6 Last Minute Mothers Day Marketing Ideas
Posted
With mothers day just around the corner, now is the time to put any last minute mothers day marketing plans into place. Here are 6 ways you can increase your sales this Mothers Day, using Swim.
1. SMS / text message campaign
You can send an SMS to all or select customers, inviting them instore, and if they present the SMS at point of sale they receive a free box of chocolates for Mum, with their purchase. (or it could be a free gift card, free small gift or a discount off the purchase).
With email, you can use the power of pictures to show Mothers day gift ideas in different price points, along with a special offer. Be sure to put an expiration date on the offer, and make the email look personal and not too long.
Targeted, direct mail campaigns can be very effective. Write a personal letter and hand sign the bottom. Include in the letter your 'Mothers Day Gift Guide' (with different price points). You can use the reports in Swim® to further personalise the letter. For example, send gift suggestions for Brand X, for all clients that have purchased that brand.
Having Mothers tell their husbands and children what they want for Mothers day is always a great start. In Swim® you can run a pro-active wish list, where you can record all the gifts that the Mother would like, and then send that list to their loved ones.
Gift cards are always a winner for those customer who just don't know what to buy their Mother. Be sure to display proudly at point of sale that you have gift vouchers available.
If you use plastic gift cards, be sure you have enough on hand in the different price ranges. If you need further plastic gift cards printed, or you want to start using plastic gift cards, email sales@octahedron.com.au
6. Hold a Mothers Day Contest
Invite people to submit their favourite “Mum Jewelry Memories” (stories of Jewelry passed down through generations, shopping with mum for a Jewelry piece etc) to be entered in a drawing and then feature their entries as a post on your website. Entrants will share their “featured post” on your website with everyone they know which drives people to your website and increases visibility. Let your customers know about the contest through email, direct mail or sms. Also remember to let the local newspapers and media know.
